It’s that time of year again! Whether you do resolutions, goals or intentions or are still in a food coma from that leg of ham you’ve been snacking on for four days, chances are, you’ve been thinking about how 2020 is going to look for you.
You can get into a big argument on Twitter about whether it’s the end of the decade or not but regardless of where you sit on that issue, 2020 is a significant year. Not just because of the 2020 vision puns that are flying through my head but because it’s that year that felt so far away when I was a kid. In what feels like the blink of an eye, it’s here.
If you are contemplating your goals for 2020 then some of those goals should be big and hairy and a little bit scary. Mine are. And I won’t be able to achieve some of them without help.

Here are 10 goals I can help you with in 2020.
Goal 1: Get a new job
Yes! Don’t suffer another year at a job that doesn’t suit you or your skills. If you need a new CV or cover letter, or just need an objective eye to look over it, let me know!
Goal 2: Sort out your website
If you let them, websites will take every minute of every day of your life. There is always something to tweak or a new layout you want to try. If you need a hand with the copy, or would just like a website review, let me know. Goal 3: Start a business
Oooh you’re taking the leap! YES! I’m sure you’ve probably realised that there are a million things you need to do to get your business started. I can help with your communications and marketing, write your customer-focussed or internal staff documents, help you set up a Facebook page, or get you on your way with some sizzling web copy. Goal 4: Win some new business
If you’ve decided it’s time to get into tenders, but you have no idea what you’re doing or no time to do it, I can help. I’ve written heaps of tender responses and grant applications with a great success rate. I’ve even won myself a spot on a panel contract for government work. I can write the tender from scratch or review what you’ve got before you submit. I can even write you a capability statement or help with the common documents in your tender library.
Goal 5: Stand out on LinkedIn
LinkedIn is basically Facebook for business and it is a great way to meet new people in your area, keep up to date on your industry, and follow inspiring business leaders. If your profile is a bit of a shambles, or you don’t even have one (GASP), then let’s talk!
Goal 6: Become a speaker
If you’ve got a unique perspective or an inspiring story then you might want to share it with the world. One of the best ways to do that is by speaking at conferences and events. Goal 7: Get a handle on SEO
The big scary SEO monster! Nah, it’s really not that scary. Once you know what it is and how it works, it’s pretty easy to keep on top of. I can offer you some SEO coaching through the ASBAS program or give you a website audit to see how you’re ranking and where you can improve your SEO.
Goal 8: Write more content for your audience
Content is king, right? Right. SEO helps people find you and a really great way of boosting your SEO and your presence on Google is through blogs and articles. They can be short and sweet buyer’s guides, advertorials or editorials for magazines and newspapers, or they can be long-form articles that go in-depth on a topic relevant to your business or your industry. They can even be success stories and case studies of previous clients. Need help with it? Goal 9: Write better social media captions

Goal 10: Learn how to write great copy
There are a billion things that need copy in the day-to-day running of a business. Not an exaggeration. If writing copy takes you too long or just frustrates you, then have a copy coaching session or two with me. I can teach you what works, what doesn’t, and work with you from where you are. You don’t need any experience at all – just a willingness to learn!
